From time to time, we have retired adults looking for their forever laps. As much as we would love to keep all of our babies, we need to do what is best for them! This doesnt mean we dont love them or are just getting rid of them when were done with them. We want them to have the most amazing lives they possibly can. We take the placement of our adults very seriously! Please dont even consider one of our retired adults if you arent willing to give themall the time they need!! Adults take far more time to adjust than puppies do. They are dogs and they cant communicate with us verbally. They do NOT know what is going on and they need time to be able to adjust and understand. Some adults can take months. You need to be on their time. Jus as they have to adjust to your routine, you need to adjust to theirs as well.
What is the 3-3-3 rule?
Once you've found your new bestie, it's important to prepare for their arrival by following the 3-3-3 rule. The 3-3-3 rule is a set of guidelines for the first three days, three weeks, and three months after adopting a new dog. The goal of the 3-3-3 rule is to help the dog adjust to their new environment and build a strong foundation for a long and happy life with their new family.
Why is the 3-3-3 rule important?
The 3-3-3 rule is important because it emphasizes the need for patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement when bringing home a newly adopted dog. Dogs are creatures of habit and routine, and they need time to adjust to new environments and build trust with their new family.
